Born and raised in HK, Lies’ journey as a photographer had their humble beginnings experimenting with a Hello Kitty toy camera at the age of 10. Little did she know that her budding talent would grow firms roots in New York City, her current home, where her constant yearning for visual experimentation has grown into an aesthetic all her own. Lies’ perspective maintains an air of mystery despite its honesty, witnessed by her ability to capture raw moments often overlooked by the common eye. Creating moments out of thin air, she becomes one with her surroundings and dives deep into the taboo of the human spirit – the mental, the sexual, the spiritual. Minimalistic yet bold, Lies’ photography provokes thought and reflection through visual and sensory contradiction. Lies has begun to aggregate her visual direction to include film, digital photography & video.
